As you can see in the image above, the outside of the house looks immensely better. It is very important to have a good landscaping crew that you work with in order to increase curb appeal for the house. Before our contractor got out there, you can see how overgrown and disheveled it looks. After cleanup and landscaping it is hard to recognize the property. Not only does it increase the money you make on the house, it also brings the value of the surrounding homes up.
The living room was a disaster before my contractors crew got out there. You can see that we replaced the flooring with a vinyl flooring that will hold up for many years. One of the biggest expenses when changing tenants or selling a house can be the flooring. By utilizing a vinyl laminate, it is more cost effective in the long run because you can just replace “planks” as needed and you don’t have to replace the entire floor. For more information on the flooring check out a video we made with Jeff Cantor, owner of Americas Best Carpet & Tile
The next area we focused on was the dining room and kitchen. You can see how much more open and brighter the space feels. The open sight line and continuous use of the flooring is important. Having multiple types of flooring throughout the house make the house feel disjointed and you want to see the beautiful vinyl throughout the whole living area.
The bathrooms were not in the best condition when we took over the property. You could tell the previous owner just didn’t care about keeping things clean. Our contractor did an amazing job in here. Replacing all the wall tile with an inexpensive yet durable tile modernizes the bathroom. Another thing I recommend would be to replace the toilets when you redo a bathroom. There is nothing worse that modernizing the rest of the bathroom and leaving and old toilet in the space.
